The European Society for Medical Oncology granted East Tallinn Central Hospital accreditation from 2022-2024 as an integrated centre for oncology and palliative care. This accreditation confirms that the cancer treatment provided at the hospital complies with the highest international standards.
The Council of East Tallinn Central Hospital decided that Dr Ene Halling will continue to serve as a Board Member and Head of Treatment for the next three years. Dr Ene Halling is responsible for the organisation of out-patient and in-patient treatment services as well as quality of care, treatment analysis and statistics.
The National Expert Committee on Immunoprophylaxis, which met on 24 August, discussed issues related to COVID-19 vaccination, including the need for possible future booster doses. Experts believe that the focus should continue to be on vaccinating people who have not yet been vaccinated in order to prevent severe cases of COVID-19 and thus the overburdening of the healthcare system.
