60 years of nursing care in Järve

This month, East Tallinn Central Hospital Nursing Clinic in Järve, formerly known as Tallinn Järve Hospital, celebrates its 60th birthday. The first patient was admitted to the Railway Hospital located among the greenery and trees of Järve and Rahumäe on 4 August 1961. For decades, Järve Hospital has played an important role in nurturing Estonians back to health. At the Nursing Clinic, patients find relief from their ailments and learn to manage without assistance. Today, it is one of the largest nursing clinics in Estonia and houses 130 beds and a 12-bed hospice for patients.

East Tallinn Central Hospital leads introduction of latest scientific achievements in voice

The international voice seminar PEVoC Tutorial Seminar will take place on 21 August in Tallinn and will feature more than 400 participants. Doctors, scientists, representatives of fields using voice as a tool, specialists and experts from all over the world will gather in a virtual space. The seminar is organised by the East Tallinn Central Hospital Centre of Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases in cooperation with the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre.

Amanita virosa to blame for highest number of poisonings

This year there have been five cases of serious mushroom poisoning in Northern Estonia. The majority of these have been caused by Amanita virosa or the destroying angel. There are currently two patients hospitalised in East Tallinn Central Hospital with a serious case of mushroom poisoning who mistook the destroying angel for a parasol mushroom.
