The National Expert Committee on Immunoprophylaxis, which met on 24 August, discussed issues related to COVID-19 vaccination, including the need for possible future booster doses. Experts believe that the focus should continue to be on vaccinating people who have not yet been vaccinated in order to prevent severe cases of COVID-19 and thus the overburdening of the healthcare system.
This month, East Tallinn Central Hospital Nursing Clinic in Järve, formerly known as Tallinn Järve Hospital, celebrates its 60th birthday. The first patient was admitted to the Railway Hospital located among the greenery and trees of Järve and Rahumäe on 4 August 1961. For decades, Järve Hospital has played an important role in nurturing Estonians back to health. At the Nursing Clinic, patients find relief from their ailments and learn to manage without assistance. Today, it is one of the largest nursing clinics in Estonia and houses 130 beds and a 12-bed hospice for patients.
The international voice seminar PEVoC Tutorial Seminar will take place on 21 August in Tallinn and will feature more than 400 participants. Doctors, scientists, representatives of fields using voice as a tool, specialists and experts from all over the world will gather in a virtual space. The seminar is organised by the East Tallinn Central Hospital Centre of Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases in cooperation with the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre.
