"Two strong candidates were shortlisted,” Kairi Vaher, Chairwoman of the ETCH Council, told us. “Kätlin Pallo's strength is her long-standing association with the East Tallinn Central Hospital. In her current position as the Head of Nursing in the Surgery Clinic, she is also involved in mentoring her junior colleagues. Her long work experience and active communication style with the hospital staff were her advantages in electing her. On behalf of the Council, I would like to thank Ülle Rohi, the current Board Member and Head of Nursing, for her work and contribution to the development of the hospital".

Kätlin Pallo started working as a nurse in the Clinic of Internal Medicine of the East Tallinn Central Hospital in 2004 and since 2012 she has been the Head of Nursing in the Surgery Clinic.

"Working in different positions at the hospital has given me an excellent overview of how the hospital operates,” said Kätlin Pallo. “Good teamwork and working together towards common goals is essential to me. A close-knit and motivated staff who are interested in improving themselves can create a synergy that has been noticed by our patients as well as their loved ones. Under the leadership of Ülle Rohi, the current Head of Nursing, the nursing field has developed significantly over the years and we are proud of it. I am happy to contribute to the management of the nursing field at the hospital – to continue with ongoing work and accept new exciting challenges.”

The tenure of Ülle Rohi as the Board Member and Head of Nursing, after working in this position for 21 years, will end on 13 February. Kätlin Pallo will take over her position on 14 February.
