Visit and Inpatient Fees

Starting from April 1, 2025, the visit and inpatient fees at our hospital will be updated.

If outpatient specialised medical care is provided to the insured person. The visit fee is EUR 20 in the emergency medical centre or in the emergency reception of the Women’s Clinic.

Visit fee

Discounted visit fee (EUR 5) applies to:

  • Individuals aged 63 and older;
  • Recipients of incapacity for work or old-age pension;
  • Persons with partial or no work ability;
  • Unemployed individuals;
  • Mothers of children under one year old;
  • Recipients of subsistence benefits.

The visit fee must be paid if:

  • The patient turns to a specialist doctor with or without a referral from a family doctor, specialist doctor, or independent provider of nursing care, if there is no referral requirement;
  • The visit fee must be paid once a year if the specialist leaves the insured person under the supervision or treatment of a provider of specialised medical care due to his or her state of health;

The visit fee does not have to be paid:

  • By patients under 19 years of age
  • By pregnant women (on presentation of the pregnancy passport)
  • In the case of emergency care, if immediately followed by hospitalization (in the case of emergency specialised outpatient care followed directly by inpatient health care)
  • in the case of an appointment with a doctor of the same speciality or a doctor of another speciality with a referral from an East Tallinn Central Hospital specialist doctor;
  • another health care provider in the case of a referral from a specialist doctor of the same speciality;
  • in the case of a paid outpatient appointment (the appointment is paid on the basis of the hospital’s price list);
  • a person who is in a prison, a house of detention, and a Tallinn detention centre.

If the patient does not present a document (or does not prove in any other way) proving their right to pay the visit fee of EUR 5 or be exempt from it, they will have to pay the visit fee of EUR 20.

Payment of the visit fee:

  • The visit fee must be paid to the health care service upon registration.
  • Payment is made in cash or by bank card at the reception or via a bank link in the self-service solution.
  • The payment of the visit fee is checked in the reception office.

In-patient fee


In-patient fee is EUR 5 per day, up to a maximum of 10 days per case.

The in-patient fee does not have to be paid:

  • In case of hospitalisation related to pregnancy and childbirth
  • By patients under 19 years of age
  • In the provision of intensive care
  • In the provision of day care and day surgery services
  • In the provision of inpatient treatment for a charge
  • In the provision of in-patient chemotherapy
  • In case of re-hospitalisation within 30 (thirty) days of the end of the primary hospitalisation, if the re-hospitalisation is due to a hospitalisation-related treatment complication
  • As caregiver for a child under one (1) year of age while in hospital
  • Upon provision of in-patient specialised medical care to persons staying in a prison, a house of detention, or a Tallinn detention centre
  • In the event of the death of the patient during treatment
