Endocrine surgery

Endocrine surgery mainly deals with the surgical treatment of thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal and pancreatic hormone diseases. There is close cooperation with endocrinologists, pathologists, radiologists and nuclear medicine doctors. Endocrinologists usually decide on the need of the surgical treatment of such diseases.

Most often, we operate benign thyroid diseases and differentiated thyroid cancer.

During the surgery, we use rapid diagnostics methods to specify the nature of thyroid diseases. In the treatment of parathyroid glands, we use the method of parathyroid hormone determination test during the surgery. We operate adrenal hormone-active tumours in mini-invasive techniques.

After the surgery, the oncological council will decide on the need of follow-up treatment at the department of nuclear medicine in our hospital.
