Lymphography. Marking the sentinel lymph node
Lymphography is used in case of lymph drainage disorders of the limbs.
Marking the sentinel lymph nodes is performed up to 24 hours before a planned surgery for breast cancer, melanoma, cervical cancer or penile cancer. During the examination, a substance marked with radioactive technetium (99mTc) will be injected under the skin which will move via the lymphatic system and accumulate into the first lymph node at the injection site.
You can come to the examination only with a specialist’s referral.
