Independent appointments of urology nurses

A nurse’s independent appointment is an outpatient nursing care service that includes:

• epicystostomy replacement and teaching its care

• counselling a patient with a urostomy

• wound care, dressing, suture removal

• performing nursing procedures (e.g. inserting medicine into the bladder)

• post-treatment monitoring of patients (PSA analysis, general analyses)

If necessary, the nurse will refer the patient to a doctor’s consultation.
