Appointment with a social worker
The social worker helps the centre of oncology patients with various practical matters of the social field, such as sick leave, application for disability assessment and assessment of work capacity, application for social and occupational rehabilitation services, further care of patients (when at home, in a medical institution or a nursing home). The social worker also provides the patients with an overview of the services and support provided by the state, local governments and various organisations.
An appointment with a social worker can be arranged by your treating doctor or a palliative care nurse.
