President recognises Ülle Rohi and Dr Aino Rõõm with state awards

President of the Republic of Estonia Alar Karis commends Physician Consultant for Infection Control Dr Aino Rõõm and Member of the Board and Head of Nursing Ülle Rohi with the Order of the Red Cross.

As Head of Nursing, Ülle Rohi has been the leader of the COVID-19 vaccination process both in and outside our hospital. As an infection control physician, Dr Aino Rõõm has advised the staff of our hospital on how to cope with the wide spread of the infection in our society and how to prevent transmission within the hospital and keep it as low as possible. Dr Rõõm has also made a significant contribution to activities related to increasing public awareness.

We are very happy for the recognition of our colleagues! We wish Dr Rõõm and Ülle Rohi much happiness and strength for moving forwards victoriously!

This year, 148 outstanding Estonians from various fields of life will receive the award.

The President of the Republic acknowledges the work of many healthcare professionals for taking care of the health of the Estonian people in these difficult times and facing the dark side of the pandemic.

“These awards are a tribute to the people of Estonia and our friends abroad whose actions have carried on the word of our constitution and the idea that the Estonian state is founded on freedom, justice and fairness, the protection of internal and external peace and a guarantee to our present and future generations of their social success and overall benefit,” says the President.
