East Tallinn Central Hospital Women’s Clinic extends gratitude to Estonian mothers

05.04.2022

In the past few weeks, the Maternity Counselling Centre of East Tallinn Central Hospital Women’s Clinic has been providing support to young mothers who arrived as refugees and has ascertained the need for additional assistance and support. In cooperation with local Estonian mothers, we have been able to help Ukrainian mothers, making sure babies have everything they need for their first months of life.

Who are the people that reached Estonia as refugees from Ukraine? Mostly women and children, including mothers with newborn babies and pregnant women.

Even today, we provided a Ukrainian mother with a pram in good condition (as good as new) and essentials for her baby. The former owner of the pram, little Nora, who just turned one, started walking not so long ago and prefers to go about her business on her own two feet. A lighter pram will now be used for longer walks. Nora’s mother Kadri reveals that Nora was born in East Tallinn Central Hospital’s Maternity Hospital and the family was determined to make a donation to Ukrainian mothers being looked after in the hospital.

We greatly appreciate the kindness and sincere help Estonian mothers have provided. We are incredibly grateful for everything!

You can support Ukrainian mothers by donating to the Refugee Centre in Tallinn. For more information on the kind of help most sought after at the moment, visit https://www.tallinn.ee/est/ukraina/Annetamine-Ukraina-heaks.

East Tallinn Central Hospital Women’s Clinic is the oldest and largest maternity hospital in Estonia with experienced gynaecologists and midwives. We support Ukrainian mothers first and foremost by providing medical assistance and health consultations, but from time to time we must help them in finding everyday support outside the hospital. If you are kind enough to make a donation to the littlest Ukrainian patients who are being looked after by East Tallinn Central Hospital, please contact our social worker by calling +372 620 7394.
