As of August 4, 2021 surgical masks required and patient visits suspended
Dear patients and friends and family of patients,
Due to the renewed spread of COVID-19, the wearing of surgical masks has once again become mandatory for medical staff, patients and those accompanying them on the premises East Tallinn Central Hospital. Visits to hospitalised patients have also been suspended.
The wearing of masks and disinfecting of hands is mandatory
All patients arriving at the hospital for planned and emergency tests and treatment must wear a surgical mask. These will be provided upon entering the hospital, where you will also be asked to disinfect your hands.
Children up to the age of 14 and patients with special physical needs are permitted to be accompanied by one person (with the exception of in-patient and day care). The person accompanying the patient must also wear a mask and comply with all of the other requirements set by the hospital.
Patient visits suspended except on agreement with the treating doctor
Visits to hospitalised patients have been suspended, except in cases where the treating doctor allows it due to the serious condition and poor prognosis of the patient.
Visitors must fulfil one of the following conditions:
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
- Contracted and recovered from COVID-19 within the last eight months
- Returned a negative PCR test within the last 24 hours (with a document to prove it)
The maximum visiting time is 15 minutes, and only one visitor is allowed at a time. All visitors are required to wear a mask while with the patient.
Provision of packages to hospitalised patients
Packages may be brought in for patients who are hospitalised for more than two days. Such packages may be left with cloakroom staff in the relevant unit of the hospital.
