Removal of kidney stones

The Centre of Urology at East Tallinn Central Hospital has, over the years, performed >30% of all kidney stone removal procedures in Estonia. Thanks to the universal training of our staff and smooth teamwork, patient handling is fast and standardised. This allows for the removal of the patient’s kidney or ureteral stone on the day of hospitalization, with the patient being discharged on the following day.

We reach the stones by using the natural urinary tract of the individual or directly through the skin (in case of removing large kidney stones). All surgeries are performed endoscopically using a mini-invasive method. We use the Holmium Yag laser to crush the stones.

Multiple endoscopic treatment methods are used in the treatment of urolithiasis.
