Appointment with a cardiologist
A cardiologist deals with diseases related to the heart, such as ischaemic heart disease, prior myocardial infarction, heart failure, cardiomyopathies, valve failures, arrhythmias, issues related to blood pressure disease unresponsive to conventional treatment.
You can also consult a cardiologist if you have a high risk of heart diseases in the family history (high cholesterol in family history, early onset of heart diseases, sudden death in the family), pregnant women with heart issues.
In order to go to the reception, a referral letter from a family physician with all health-related information is necessary, while the family doctor has done the primary examinations and analyzes of heart diseases. In case any additional tests are required, the patient will be contacted and an appointment date arranged. If the cardiologist rules that the patient is required to remain under observation, a referral letter for a return appointment (valid for 1 year) will be prepared; the patient can register themselves for a physician’s appointment with it after the prescribed time has passed.
Independent nurse’s appointments also take place on the following topics – heart failure, atrial fibrillation, post myocardial infarction and lifestyle optimisation counselling.
