Skeletal scintigraphy

This examination allows to detect metabolic disorders in bones in case of tumour metastases or osteitis.

In addition, it is possible to evaluate the reaction of bone tissue that surrounds joint prostheses (the prosthesis must have been inserted at least 12 months ago). The examination includes intravenously injecting a substance marked with radioactive technetium (99mTc) which will accumulate in the bones proportionally to the local metabolism of the bone.

You can come to the examination only with a specialist’s referral.
