Umbilical hernia, inguinal hernia or femoral hernia surgery

During the surgery, an incision is made in the area of the hernia. Depending on the anatomy of the hernia it is decided whether to push the hernia sac back into the abdominal cavity or remove it. The hernia area is sewn up and/or a mesh is placed there which reduces the likelihood of recurrent hernia. The skin is closed with stitches.
