Electrical cardioversion

The procedure, the purpose of which is to restore the normal heart rhythm (sinus rhythm) with an electric shock, is performed at the cardiology department.

Eating or drinking is prohibited for at least 6 hours before the procedure. Since the procedure is performed under general anaesthesia, vehicles cannot be driven for at least 6 hours after the procedure.
